A case of feline fitness gone wrong: Colarado police
have ticketed a man who was accused of tying his cat to a rock after it refused
to follow him on a jog. Officials said the 19-year-old Benjamin Ridler brought
his cat tied on to a leash to a path in Lafayette Park on Wednesday, but the
cat was unable to keep up. Rather than call it a day and head home, a witness
told police that Ridler secured the cat's leash to a rock while he finished his
run—where birds reportedly began to attack the tied cat
Police officials
were then called, and a Lafayette ordinance "prohibits that kind of
tethering," so Franco was ticketed on suspicion of "domestic animal
cruel treatment."
The cat
wasn't injured, so it was released to him. He was further advise to not repeat
his offence again.
